The FHTC Foundation “Run for the Money” benefit Poker Run, was held Saturday, Oct. 11. A total of 75 people registered for the event and enjoyed a gorgeous day for a drive through the Flint Hills. Motorcycles, classic and antique cars were welcome to join in the fun. After checking in and drawing their first card for the poker hand, participants headed to Bobby D’s Lakeside at Lake Wabaunsee. Bobby D’s Lakeside generously donated 20% of their sales during the Poker Run to the FHTC Foundation. It was then off to the Dairy Queen in Council Grove and then the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, where participants could tour the site or rest in the shade. After returning to FHTC for the last card, a meal was served and prizes were awarded. Prizes were given for the top three poker hands, 50/50 cash drawing, $1,000 and $500 pre-paid gas card and several donated door prizes. Over $2,300 was raised to benefit the students of FHTC.
